OUC Orlando Half Marathon Increases Prize Purse Continuing the Legacy of February’s US Marathon Trials

Orlando, FL - Track Shack Events announces a $24,000 prize purse for the OUC Orlando Half Marathon on Saturday, December 7 at Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando as part of an athlete development program for U.S. runners.

Continuing the ‘history-making’ legacy of the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Marathon held in Orlando in February, Track Shack Events, the race organizer, is committed to keeping the momentum going while developing and inspiring the next generation of American runners who have their sights set on the LA Games 2028.

“February’s Marathon Trials energized our sport. The local community wholeheartedly embraced the athletes as they ran through downtown Orlando passionately pursuing their dream of making Team USA.” says Jon Hughes, co-owner of Track Shack Events. “Creating opportunities for the athletes to compete at their highest level helps them achieve their future personal and team goals.”

The OUC Orlando Half Marathon athlete development program invites a limited number of athletes who are provided a priority starting corral. With an eligible qualifying time, athletes may receive a complimentary race entry or a complimentary race entry + two-night hotel accommodations (for those meeting the high-performance standards.)

Staying true to Florida roots, additional prize money will be offered to Florida-based athletes.
